Hi Dennis: I know very little about you except the bits and pieces that I heard on NPR while you were running - but I always admired your honesty and candor. We need more of it! You're absolutely correct in the reasons why we love Oprah and Eminem over our politicians - they're human and they share their emotional journeys (both good and bad) with us, reminding us that we're not alone.
How did I find you? On Salon.com. I can't believe I seem to be the first considering I'm out here in California. Keep up the interesting, funny and above all honest writing. I was worried that after this sham of an election that you would simply drop off the radar. I am happy that that has not happened.
Your words and perserverance during the Democratic primaries gave me hope... but your appearance here in Portland made me realise that I can do something too.
So, while I am not getting rid of my shoes, I AM trying to do something to further the development of a sustainable and compasionate world... just my little part... thanks to you.
Hi, if this is really Dennis Kucinich, it is great, but I'm sort of suspicious, since you said in a blog post you don't have children... but in a biography of you online it says you have a daughter? If it is real, you could post a link to this blog from kucinich.com, to prove it.
Yes, Congressman, you DO have a daughter. She is probably grown now and maybe her mother carried the load in terms of child rearing ..... and boy what a load that is, I know ... but you do have a child. So it begs the question, are you Dennis, or is this blog someone's idea of a joke? Actually, I've never read a blog before, but discovred this via salon.com and if it is indeed you, then kudos. About heroes: Everyone you mentioned is a celebrity, people we are conditioned to "admire" from afar in an abstract way, feeding our curiousity about their extraordinary lives. Celebrities are not heroes. They are famous, that's all, and it's come to that. We worship fame, and God help us. The particular kind of fame that you gained, in the long run, will bode us all well, as long as you continue on your path of positive social change and get ready to kick some serious ass in D.C. (metaphorically speaking of course) I still don't believe this is you. Doesn't matter. You're in the world, and we need you.
